Editing Recordings

This page provides information on editing the details and settings of Recordings.

Please note: You can only edit content that you own, content that you have added yourself, or any other content for which you have been granted the Can Edit permission.

How to Edit a Recording

  • Navigate to the Planet eStream Homepage and Search for the recording that you would like to edit.
  • Select the title of the item to view the item.

  • From within the View Page, click Edit Details within the Details tab.

    Please note: Depending on the layout of the page, the Edit Details option may be within More menu.

  • From the menu, click Edit Details.
  • The page enters edit mode.
  • Amend the Title, Description, or list selections, as required.
  • Change the Publishing Policy selection, if required.

  • Change the recording from Public to Private or vice-versa, if required.

    Private content may only be viewed by the user who added it, or users whose schema membership permits them to view other users' private content within the selected Publishing Policy.

    Public content can potentially be viewed by any user whose schema membership permits them to view content within the selected Publishing Policy.

  • Use the Change Owner list to take ownership of the recording, if appropriate. For more information on ownership, please see the Ownership Help Page.

  • Select whether the ERA Licencing Disclaimer should be shown to users when before viewing the item.

    Please note: If the recording is within a Publishing Policy that is configured to show the ERA licence disclaimer for all content then the ERA option will not be available.

How to Set the Thumbnail of a Recording

  • From the Planet eStream Homepage, search for the Recording for which you would like to set the thumbnail.

  • Click on the title of the Recording to view the Recording.

  • From within the View Page, click the Details tab.

  • From within the View Page, click Edit Options.

    Please note: Depending on the layout of the page, the option may be within More menu.

  • Click Edit Thumbnail.

    If the option is not available then you do not have permission to edit the thumbnail for the Recording.

  • The Edit Thumbnail panel will load.

  • To set the thumbnail from the video player, pause video playback at the position from which the thumbnail should be taken and click Set Thumbnail From Video.

  • To set the thumbnail from an image file, click Upload Thumbnail from File and select an image file.

  • To apply the thumbnail, click Submit Thumbnail.
