Viewing Categories

Categories are a powerful feature of the Planet eStream website. They are used to group similar/related content together, organising the content, and making navigation easier.

This help page refers to Categories, however on your system Categories have been renamed to Departments.

How to View Categories - The Categories Page

  • Click the Categories icon at the top of the Planet eStream Homepage.
  • You are taken to the Categories page, showing the featured Categories.
  • Please note: You may not have access to all/any of the Categories on your Planet eStream system. The Categories that you have access to are based on your user or group permissions.
  • Select an option from the View list to change the Categories displayed to; All Categories, Featured Categories, New Categories, or the Most Popular Categories.
  • Select an option from the Order By list to change the display order of the Categories displayed on the page. The options are; Popularity, A-Z for alphabetical, or Date Added for age.
  • The Jump to.. list shows all Categories available at the current level - click on a Category to view the Category.
  • Enter keywords in the search-box to search the contents of the Categories shown. For more information on searching, please see the Searching Help Page.

How to View Categories - Each Category's Page

Each Category has its own page that has the same features and functionality as the Planet eStream Homepage.

Any sub-Categories present within the Category will be shown.

Searching within the Category will return results from the Category and also from any sub-Categories present. For more information on searching, please see the Searching Help Page.
