Mobile Upload

Planet eStream supports adding content using mobile devices such as iPads, iPhones and Android devices.

For help on adding content via non-mobile devices, please see the Adding Media Help Page.

Please note: To Add Media, you must have the appropriate permissions.

Apple iOS : How to Add Media

  • Using your mobile device, download and install the free Planet eStream Mobile Upload Application from the Apple iTunes Store.

  • Launch the application.

  • Restrict Uploads

    This option is designed to automatically log the user out of the system after the application has been used to complete a set number of uploads. To enable the option, select Enabled and enter the permitted number of uploads.

  • Remember Me

    If enabled, the application will remember your authentication credentials following a successful Log-in. When the application is subsequently closed and re-opened, you will not be prompted to re-authenticate.

  • User Details

    Enter your Planet eStream username and password.

    Click the Log In button.

  • The following page will load.

    Please note: The options available are based on your permissions within the Planet eStream system. If, for instance, you do not have permission to add video/audio content to the Planet eStream system but you do have permission to add Photosets, the Upload Video and the Record and Upload Video options will be disabled, leaving Upload Photos as the only enabled option.

  • To Upload an Existing Video

    Click the Upload Video button and select a video from your Camera Roll.

    After the video has compressed, enter a Title and Description.

    Select a Publishing Policy.

    If the option is available, confirm if the video should be Private or Public.

    • Private content may only be viewed by the user who added it, or users whose schema membership permits them to view other users' private content within the selected Publishing Policy.
    • Public content can potentially be viewed by any user whose schema membership permits them to view content within the selected Publishing Policy.

    Click the Upload Video button.

  • To Record and Upload a New Video

    Click the Record and Video button and record a new video.

    After the recording has completed, enter a Title and Description.

    Select a Publishing Policy.

    If the option is available, confirm if the video should be Private or Public.

    • Private content may only be viewed by the user who added it, or users whose schema membership permits them to view other users' private content within the selected Publishing Policy.
    • Public content can potentially be viewed by any user whose schema membership permits them to view content within the selected Publishing Policy.

    Click the Upload Video button.

  • To Create a New Photoset

    Click the Upload Photos button.

    Click Create New Photoset.

    Select a Publishing Policy.

    If the option is available, confirm if the video should be Private or Public.

    • Private content may only be viewed by the user who added it, or users whose schema membership permits them to view other users' private content within the selected Publishing Policy.
    • Public content can potentially be viewed by any user whose schema membership permits them to view content within the selected Publishing Policy.

    Click Done.

  • To Upload Photos to an Existing Photoset

    Click the Upload Photos button.

    Select an existing Photoset to which the photos should be added.

    Click the Select Photos button.

    From your Camera Roll, select the photos to add and click Done.

    Click the Upload Photos button to add the photos.

Android : How to Add Media

  • Using your mobile device, download and install the free Planet eStream Mobile Upload Application from the Google Play.

Google Play

  • Launch the application.

  • The first time the application is launched, you will be prompted to confirm your Planet eStream and user details.

    • Enter the URL of your Planet eStream Website and click Validate URL.

    • Enter your Username and Password and click Validate User.

    • Having completed the above steps, click Back.

  • The application will now display two options..

  • Click Select and Upload Video to browse your device for an existing video and upload the video to your Planet eStream Server.

    Or

    Click Record and Upload Video to record a new video with your device's camera and upload the video to your Planet eStream Server.

  • Having selected or recorded your video, enter a Title and Description where prompted and click the Upload Video button.
