Firefly Plugin Help

The eStream Firefly Plugin provides a quick and easy way of adding Planet eStream content to your Firefly Virtual Learning Environment. The Plugin can be used to add the following types of eStream content; Recordings, Quizzes, Documents, Chapters, Playlists, and Photosets.

Additionally, Video/Audio/Documents can be added to your eStream archive from within Firefly and directly embedded into the Firefly page.

Adding eStream Content to Firefly

  • While Within Firefly, and when editing a page, click the More button and then click eStream, as shown below.
  • A eStream search box will be displayed. Enter your search terms, or click the magnifying glass to return a list of all available content.
  • Next to each item are buttons for selecting chapters from that video, previewing the video, and if any quizzes are available for that item, selecting a quiz to add.
  • To embed the eStream item into Firefly, first click the Preview button, or click the name of the item, then click the Add to Firefly button, as shown below.
  • A pop-up window should let you know that the item has been selected. Click the Done button in the plugin window to embed the item into Firefly.

How to Edit & Delete eStream Content

  • When an item has already been added to Firefly, and you wish to change it, simply double-click the item window in edit mode, or click once and press the gear icon. This will re-open the eStream search window and allow you to choose a new item.
  • When you re-open the search window, there will also be an option to entirely remove the panel.

Uploading New Video/Audio Content

  • With the eStream search window open, select Upload to begin uploading a file to eStream. Once uploaded, you will have the choice to also embed this item into Firefly.
  • Select Choose File and then select the file you wish to upload. Depending on your eStream permissions, you may be allowed to upload video, audio and document (document, PDF etc.) files.
  • You will now be presented with a list of upload options. This includes things such as the title and description, categories to add to, custom dynamic fields, etc. Take your time to ensure everything is filled out correctly. Remember that to set your own title, you should untick the Use filename for title option.
  • Click Confirm when you're finished setting the upload options, and if everything has been entered correctly, the process should begin. You can also press Cancel to stop the file uploading.
  • A pop-up notification will let you know that the upload is complete. Click the Done button in the plugin window to add this item to Firefly. You may see a placeholder message within Firefly while the upload is still processing.
